The cougar (Puma concolor) also known as the puma, mountain lion, panther and other names. The Florida Panther is referred to as (Puma concolor coryi), but typically Puma concolor, the cougar is standard. On average adults are between 5-7 feet on length, and weigh anywhere between 60 and 160 pounds. 

"Black Panthers" are not cougars at all, and delineated name came from "panthera", and are jaguars. 

NOTE that the cub has spots and will typically lose their beautiful coloring after 5 months of age.
